Multi Language Learners MLL

Our Multi Language Learners program is designed to help our students for whom English is not their primary language. 

Our onsite team includes three specialists - Barb Bentley, Jenny Hensley and Amy Mamula - who work directly with our students and teachers to support these special learning needs.

REGIONAL MULTICULTURAL FAMILY LIAISONS

My name is Elena De Prado, and I have served as the Highlands Ranch Multicultural Family Liaison for the past two years. I’m also pleased to introduce my colleague, Angela Leong, who joined in the same role in April 2025.

Together, we’ll be working across schools to support communication and engagement with ML families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Our goal is to strengthen relationships between schools and the communities we serve.

What kind of assistance does the Family Cultural Liaison provide?

Here is a list of the few things we provide:

  • Enhance communication between multilingual students, families, schools, and the district. 

  • Provide Interpretation for students, parents, families, school staff, and the district.

  • Support parents with navigating the district's Parent Portals, My SchoolBucks, Infinite Campus, EngagED, Canvas, and Talking Points.

  • Assist with New Enrollment, Online Open Enrollment- Express Check-in-Bus Transportation/Smart Tag App. 

  • Collaborate with school staff and administration to support student learning.

  • Organize and coordinate family engagement at Regional events. 

  • Attend IEP meetings to provide language support for students and parents.

  • Connect families to Community Resources, including food and clothing banks, clinics, and affordable healthcare. 

  • Share available school programs and resources with students, parents, and families.
